Opportunity to improve the user experience

Digital marketers were spending countless hours managing ad campaigns across various social media platforms, juggling the demands of each one. It became clear that this process was not only time-consuming but also inefficient.

To address this, we focused on reducing the time required to run ad campaigns across various platforms and providing user control over the process through “One Click Launch”.

Impact

Although I wasn’t there to see all the results (as I had left the company), I was still able to observe some benefits:

1) The time required to launch one campaign was reduced by 20%.

2) Clients have complete control and can launch ad campaigns themselves using the platform, which now offers a do-it-yourself option.

Research

To better understand the problem, we decided to talk to our clients and conduct research. We held meetings to get their feedback on our idea and gathered qualitative data about their challenges.

Insights

1) Time Consumption 

Clients shared that they experienced frustration and irritation due to the large amount of time required to launch a single ad campaign on multiple platforms. It also sometimes resulted in delays in launching the ad campaigns.

2) Limited Control 

Our clients had absolutely zero to no control over the launching of campaigns except the design decisions of campaigns.

3) High Dependency

Clients felt a sense of dependency on the marketers even for a single little edit they wanted to do. For every edit or update that was needed a call used to be setup.

Market Research

As a designer, I decided to take a quick look at the current scenario for ad managers. I planned to kick off this with a few questions in my mind:

1) What do the ad managers do differently?
2) Where do they consume the maximum of their time?
3) What do the steps in each one look like?

Ideation

To brainstorm solutions for the problem, I employed the "Crazy Eight" ideation technique. In just eight minutes, I sketched out eight distinct design ideas, pushing creativity and rapid concept generation.

Why this design solution?

After multiple design reviews, our team decided to go with this particular solution because of the following reasons:

1) Easy user flow
2) Fewer number of clicks
3) Minimal user interaction
4) DIY Platform (Do It Yourself)

Future work and Takeaways

For future work, I plan to conduct usability testing and iterate on the design, ensuring it adheres to WCAG guidelines.

A key learning from this project was that simplicity can have a significant impact—designs don't need to be complex to drive business success. Even small, straightforward features can make a big difference.
